Daredevil: Born Again This is the Disney+ series that will bring back the Devil from Hell’s Kitchen. British actor Charlie Cox marked his return with a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and a guest role in She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes. In addition to the protagonist, the cast will include the participation of Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk in fiction) and, this Tuesday, it has just been confirmed that Jon Bernthal will also return as The Punisher.
The report on the collaboration between Bernthal and Marvel Studios was published by The Hollywood Reporter. Sources close to the project revealed that the star would be present at the shooting that will begin this month in New York. The series will consist of 18 episodes – a figure that exceeds other television productions in this universe – and will follow Matt Murdock in his double life as a superhero and lawyer.
Matt Corman and Chris Ord are the minds behind the fiction for the small screen, both listed as writers and executive producers. Daredevil: Born Again It will have some influence from Frank Miller’s publication in 1986, although we can already assume that it will have some changes. For example, the anti-hero The Punisher does not appear in this Marvel comics title.
What is known about this comic is that it mainly focuses on the battle between Daredevil and the villainous Kingpin, whom we met as Wilson Fisk in the Netflix series that spanned three seasons. D’Onofrio made his big comeback in the role that earned him acclaim in late 2021: he appeared in the final episodes of Hawkeye (starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld).
Jon Bernthal and his career as The Punisher
American actor Jon Bernthal rose to fame when he brought Shane Walsh to life in the walking dead. In 2016, he debuted as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, in the second season of Daredevil. A short time later, Netflix ordered a solo spin-off series for the villain and it spanned two installments aired between 2017 and 2019.
After removing all original Marvel content from the platform’s catalogue, all series set in the Marvel narrative The Defenders They were moved to Disney+. For this reason, the service streaming decided to continue with the development of this character on TV within the same Marvel Cinematic Universe (UCM) and its spin-off.
the season of Daredevil: Born Again, starring Charlie Cox, Jon Bernthal and Vincent D’Onofrio, will be released between September and November 2024 (US spring). Currently, all episodes of Daredevil, The Defenders, The Punisher, Jessica Jones and many more can be seen on Disney+.
