Jake Paul defeats Mike Tyson via unanimous decision in highly anticipated fight

(CNN) – Social media influencer turned professional boxer Jake Paul defeated former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson by unanimous decision in a highly anticipated professional fight this Friday night in Arlington, Texas.

In front of 72,300 fans at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, Paul dominated much of the fight against Tyson, becoming the sixth boxer to defeat the former heavyweight champion in his professional career.

The first few rounds were fairly quiet as both boxers adjusted to each other’s fighting style.

Tyson came out aggressive in the third round, landing an early blow on Paul. However, Paul responded moments later, landing several well-placed punches that seemed to stun the former heavyweight champion.

The 58-year-old boxer also began to show signs of fatigue for the first time during the fight.

From that point on, Paul took control of the fight, throwing combinations and making it difficult for Tyson with his jabs. Although Tyson showed flashes of energy in the later rounds, he never managed to pose a real threat.

With this win, Paul improves his professional record to 11-1, including seven knockouts, further establishing himself as a worthy competitor in the sport.
