Barcelona Mayor Jaume Colboni apologized via social media. While Colboni posed next to Laporta and Putellas wearing a team shirt with the name of the socialist, he snatched the clothes from the captain of FC Barcelona, an episode that spread on social networks and from which the PSC leader decided to withdraw

“It was an honor to share this weekend with Champions League champions Barcelona and Bilbao. All the fame should go to the women who have been making history for a long time. My apologies to Alexia Putellas. Always with equality, feminism and women’s sports. Always by your side, FC Barcelona women,” Colboni shared via X.

Barcelona won their third Champions League in Bilbao last Saturday after beating Lyon 2-0 in the final, a team they had never beaten before, with goals from Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas. The title capped a season in which they also won the League, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

During Sunday’s celebrations, the players were received at the Generalitat Palace by Generalitat President Pere Aragones and at Colboni Town Hall before celebrating their quadruple championship with fans at Plaza Sant Jaume in Barcelona.
