Rachel Zegler’s Song of Songbirds and Snakes reveals hilarious torch-passing moment with Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence.
The genre of YA dystopian films is on the rise once again thanks to the premiere of The Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
Based on the work of Suzanne Collins, the film follows a young Coriolanus Snow who becomes the mentor of Lucy Gray Baird, whom District 12 created in homage to the 10th annual Hunger Games.

Since the film takes place decades before the original Hunger Games franchise, none of the original actors are set to appear in the film, but Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes star Rachel Zegler recently revealed that the Hunger Games lead actor They had an interesting meeting together. Lawrence jokingly wanted to strangle Ziegler for prequel role
During the press tour for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Zegler, who plays the lead role of Lucy Grey, discussed meeting Lawrence during Paris Fashion Week and how the older actress wanted to pass the Hunger Games torch in an incredible way .

“We were only at Paris Fashion Week a couple of weeks ago for the Dior show,” Ziegler said while appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “I didn’t want to be weird. I was just getting myself excited to talk to him. “She was incredibly kind.”

Clarkson then showed a clip of the pair laughing together on the show and when asked what they were laughing about, Ziegler explained, “In that clip, (Jennifer) is actually saying, ‘ Let’s get another picture where I’m strangling you and telling you that you’ll never have any part of me!’ And that’s what I wanted from him.”

Lawrence played Katniss Everdeen, the original lead role of the original Hunger Games franchise, a role that defined the YA dystopian genre and Lawrence’s career.
Although both Lawrence and Ziegler’s characters in the films came from the same district, director Francis Lawrence, who directed all of the Hunger Games films including the prequels, noted how the two are very unlike each other.
“Katniss was introverted and alive,” Lawrence told Empire magazine. “She was quite cool and laid-back, you could almost say (she) was asexual.” Lucy Gray is the opposite.
