Jordan Turpin opens up about treatment in ‘tough year’

Jordan Turpin is entering 2024 with big dreams.


In a new interview with People, the aspiring model — who helped her siblings escape the so-called “House of Horrors” in January 2018 — reflected on recovering from a tough year, finding happiness with her new four-legged furry family members. Told people about and his hopes for the future.


Turpin recently marked her 23rd birthday by launching a merchandise line aptly named Braveness, “Over the past year, I’ve learned a lot about mental health and everything. By turning to therapy, Turpin has gained tools to help him through his toughest times. “[These]coping skills help motivate me to get out of bed,” she says. “I’m sleeping really well, eating really well. I’m three times a day. “Eating. I’m waking up early, sleeping early. I’m feeling healthy. I’m feeling good.”




When she has “bad days” or nightmares, “I take out my journal, and I’ve really learned to work with my pain. And I have friends and siblings I can talk to and their I can get closer,” she adds.


While 2023 wasn’t easy, Turpin also made new joyful memories and connections — which gave her hope.

At the beginning of the year, she met Demi Lovato for the first time, and she was “so sweet,” says Turpin, who was also accompanied by her sister Janetta at the time. “We went to lunch together, and she was really there for me. The beginning of the year, it was tough, and she was the one person who was there for me.”


In September she also visited the sets of America’s Got TalentWhere he met Howie Mandel – whom he had seen while incarcerated.

With the “best team” around her — and “now” role models including Selena Gomez, who has been open about her struggles with mental health — Turpin feels ready to tackle big projects in the new year. Do it.




Turpin says of Gomez, “I’ve always looked up to her because I’ve always seen how big a heart she has. She’s always been humble, she’s always been herself and she’s very connected to her fans. Still close with her 12 siblings, Turpin has also found healing with her beloved pets. “I have a lot of animals,” she says, laughing.


She is not joking. Earlier this year, she moved to a new house — mainly so her four guinea pigs and four dogs (she added her new pup, Buddy, to the family over the summer) had room to roam.




She says of her pups, “I want my dogs to have big open spaces. I have such a bond with them. I can just look at them and they’ll know what I’m talking about. They’re so funny.
