Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel were pictured on Wednesday in their first major public appearance since the release of ex-girlfriend Britney Spears’ memoir The Woman in Me.
The 42-year-old singer-actor and the 41-year-old actress showed solidarity by holding hands at the Los Angeles film screening for their new project Trolls: Band Together.
The SexyBack singer and his wife, who are parents to sons Silas, eight, and Phineas, three, were seen in all black on a drizzly evening in Southern California.
The 10-time Grammy winner wore a patterned black jacket over a black T-shirt with black slacks and black dress shoes. She wore a necklace and black-rimmed brown lens sunglasses for the weekend outing.
The 7th Heaven actress joined her spouse in a black skirt with circular silver embellishments paired with a silk top, paired with dark pantyhose and black heels.
The Emmy-nominated actress wore her light brown hair parted and slicked back earrings in her first public appearance since the release of Spears’ book, The Woman in Me. This was his first public appearance.
Timberlake was photographed last month in Cabo San Lucas with Biel, 41, who was on vacation amid the fallout from Spears, 41,’s book, which was released on October 24. He and his family were photographed arriving there on 30 October.
The Memphis, Tennessee native and his Ely, Minnesota-born spouse celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary last month since they initially tied the knot at Italy’s Borgo Egnazia resort on October 19, 2012.
They were married in January 2007, more than five years after emerging publicly as a couple.
Before Timberlake, Biel was linked to actors Chris Evans, Gerard Butler, and Adam Lavorgna. Before Biel, Timberlake was romantically involved with actresses Cameron Diaz, Alyssa Milo and Jenna Dewan, as well as Spears.
Spears made headlines with revelations about her relationship with the then-NSYNC lead singer, which lasted from 1999 to 2002. She wrote in the memoir that she had a miscarriage after becoming pregnant with Timberlake.
‘It was a surprise, but to me, it wasn’t a tragedy,’ Spears said in the fast-selling book. ‘I loved Justin very much. I always hoped that one day our family would be together. This will happen much sooner than I expected.
‘But Justin was definitely not happy with the pregnancy. He said that we were not ready to have a child in our lives because we were too young.
She further said, ‘If it had been left to me, I would never have done this. And yet Justin was so sure he didn’t want to be a father. To this day, it is one of the saddest things I have ever experienced in my life.’
Following Spears’ revelations, Timberlake turned off his Instagram comments on October 26.
An insider told People that despite details of their relationship being public, Timberlake is in “such a good place” because he’s “happy at home with Jess and their kids and he’s focused on new music.”
Earlier this month, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Timberlake and Biel are “as focused on their relationship and family as ever.”
The source added, ‘It’s somewhat upsetting to have events from the past brought up again, but they’re making sure to be there for each other and move forward.’
A source close to Spears told DailyMail.com last month that Timberlake had made no attempts to contact Spears amid the fallout from his book.
The source said, ‘Justin has not contacted Britney about this at all and he is not going to because there is nothing he can say to her.’ ‘She was there and is just telling it from her perspective.’
The source further said, ‘This does not mean that he has no objection to it. Justin is not at all happy with what you have told in this book.
In Trolls: Band Together, which is set to be released nationwide on Friday, Timberlake reprises his voice role of the character Branch, which he did in 2016’s Trolls and the 2020 sequel Trolls World Tour.
Other stars providing voices in the upcoming film include Anna Kendrick, Camila Cabello, Daveed Diggs, Zooey Deschanel, RuPaul, Eric Andre, and Amy Schumer.
According to DreamWorks, the film’s story reflects Timberlake’s boy band roots.
The film’s logline reads, ‘Poppy learns that Branch was once part of a boy band, Brozone, with his brothers Floyd, John Dory, Spruce and Clay.’ ‘But when Floyd is kidnapped, Branch and Poppy set out on a journey to reunite the other brothers and save Floyd.’
Timberlake also reunited with his NSYNC bandmates at Wednesday’s event.
The band, which also includes Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone, reunited for the first time in more than 10 years at the MTV VMAs in Hollywood last September.
The musical group, which has hit songs like Bye Bye Bye and Tearin’ Up My Heart, released a new single for the film’s soundtrack, titled Better Place.
Timberlake announced his break from the boy band at the peak of their popularity, following their 2001 album Celebrity and a successful stadium tour behind it.
Seven months after leaving the band, Timberlake took a creative turn from his bandmates with the release of his debut solo record Justified in November 2002.
The album – which included hits such as Senorita and Rock Your Body – was a commercial and creative success, as Timberlake earned his first Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for Cry Me a River, leading to Timberlake’s An impressive solo career began.
