Kaia Gerber and her supermodel mom Cindy Crawford led the glamor at the 74th National Book Awards held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on Wednesday.
The model, 22 – who also attended the Planet Omega party last night with her glamorous mum, 57 – cut a striking figure in a sleeveless floor-length brown gown which showed off her toned arms.
The Vogue cover girl wore her shiny chocolate strands parted in the middle and swept down her shoulders in a straight style.
She wore very few accessories, opting only for a pair of delicate gold earrings and a matching gold ring. As far as glam goes, the star wore bronze shadow and nude matte lipstick.
Meanwhile ’90s supermodel Cindy was seen in a business chic look, wearing a white silk cami under a crisp white blazer and fitted pants.
Cindy paired her beautiful look with silver heels and a white clutch.
The brunette stunner wore a diamond necklace and matching diamond earrings.
Many other fashionable stars at the event included Emma Roberts, 32, who dazzled in a black sequin top and black maxi skirt.
The Scream Queens star wore a gold belt around her waist.
Her blonde hair was parted on the side and styled in light waves, and she added a touch of color to her look with red lipstick.
On the red carpet, Emma was seen socializing with executive producer Karah Preece, who looked stunning in a black pantsuit.
46-year-old Kerry Washington looked very attractive in a golden halter neck bodysuit reminiscent of the 80s, over which she wore transparent black feather pants.
The Scandal actress had a black blazer draped over her shoulders. She added drama to her look with gold statement earrings.
Social media star Tinks, 33, thrilled in a brown velvet turtleneck dress, which she paired with a sleek brown purse.
Author Casey McQuiston, 32, wore a unique black vest with a red heart and the word ‘LOVE’ written on it in black letters.
Novelist Steph Cha, 37, looked incredible in a stunning navy gown, while We Sinners author Hanna Pylvanen looked gorgeous in a white button up and an aquamarine floral skirt.
The mission of the National Book Foundation is to celebrate the best literature published in the United States, expand its audience, and ensure that books have a prominent place in our culture, according to their website.
This year the National Book Awards will be hosted by LeVar Burton.
Oprah Winfrey – known for her love of literature and famous book club – is set to speak at the event.
Poet Rita Dove and author Paul Yamazaki will be recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Burton took over the role from actress Drew Barrymore after the host was rescinded following her controversial announcement of relaunching her syndicated talk show amid the Hollywood writers and actors strike.
“The National Book Awards is an evening dedicated to celebrating the power of literature and the incomparable contributions of writers to our culture,” the foundation said in a statement to The Los Angeles Times in September.
‘Our commitment is to ensure that the focus of the awards remains on celebrating authors and books, and we are grateful to Ms Barrymore and her team for their understanding in this situation.’
Barrymore later postponed the launch of the fourth season due to criticism, but the National Book Foundation had already decided to go with another host.
“We are honored to have longtime friend and colleague of the National Book Foundation LeVar Burton join us to celebrate the power of stories,” Ruth Dickey, executive director of the National Book Foundation, shared at the time.
Burton previously hosted the 70th National Book Awards in 2019.
The event will select winners in the categories of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, translated literature and young people’s literature.
