Warner Bros. Games has announced a second year of content for Mortal Kombat 1, including a new expansion and a new Kombat Pack.
The Khaos Reigns expansion will launch on September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and includes new chapters of a cinematic story set after the end of Mortal Kombat 1’s campaign.
The expansion will also be sold as part of Kombat Pack 2, a new pack of additional characters. Three of them are taken from well-known movie franchises (the T-1000 from Terminator 2, the Ghost Assassin from the Scream saga, and Conan the Barbarian), as well as returning familiar faces like Noob Saibot, Sektor, and Cyrax.
Kombat Pack 2 can only be purchased with the Khaos Reigns expansion (which will cost $49.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, or $39.99 on Switch). Pre-orders will include four skins as extras (Bridal Scorpion, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Sub-Zero, Empress Mileena, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Noob Saibot), and there will also be a Khaos Reigns bundle with Kombat Pack 1.
Finally, NetherRealm Studios also explained that a free update called Animality will be released alongside the launch of Khaos Reigns, which will bring back the animals from Mortal Kombat 3.
