Hideo Kojima and his studio Kojima Productions made a big reveal by announcing that Death Stranding is now owned by the studio. after purchasing the IP directly from PlayStation. This led to the company, without any prior announcement, releasing Death Stranding Director’s Cut Edition for Xbox Series X|S yesterday that morning.
But this was not the only strategic move by Kojima’s team: apparently, two additional acquisitions have also been confirmed, significantly expanding its catalog, and one of them involves an Xbox exclusive. IP addresses Overdose (also known as OD) and Phizint (new PlayStation IP) are now part of Kojima Productions, demonstrating the studio’s versatility and commitment to creating content for both the Microsoft and Sony gaming communities.

Of course, after the studio acquired the rights to the IP, there are doubts whether, as happened with Death Stranding, we will be able to see said game on other platforms besides Xbox Series X|S consoles and PC. On the other side, PhizintPlayStation exclusive is another of the new IPs the studio currently has its hands on, and as with Overdose, we’re now wondering if we might see it on Xbox at some point Series X|S.
