New images of Lady Gaga in the skin of Harley Quinn were released in the last days of filming the upcoming movie ‘Joker 2’, in a version that promises to be darker and more sinister.
Director todd phillips shared the face-to-face photo Wednesday on social media, announcing the end of filming and that it’s time for him to sit back and transform hours of footage into a movie.
TMZ commented that Lady Gaga’s hair and makeup in the shared image appear to match a scene she filmed earlier this week, in which she was seen singing and dancing on the same outdoor stairs in the Bronx on which she danced Joaquin Phoenix in the first “Joker” movie.
The versions of the character that the singer will play appear to be darker than Margot Robbie’s portrayal of Harley Quinn, which has been well received in a number of different movies.
Previous set photos have revealed Harley (Gaga) looking scared on the street, as well as audio of her singing “Couple of Swells.” Then there are images of what appears to be Arkham in flames and a prop referencing “Dent”, which could reveal the involvement of Harvey Dent aka Two-Face (Two faces), in the film. Two official first looks at the film have been released so far: one featuring Gaga and Phoenix, while another shows Arthur shaving.
Other images and videos of the paparazzo, which were shared on Twitter, show Lady Gaga in an oversized black coat and gloves as she made her way down the stairs connecting Shakespeare and Anderson avenues at West 167th Street in the Bronx. In another photograph, she appeared to be discussing the scene in detail with her director Todd Philips.
officially titled Joker: Folie à Deux, will also feature Catherine Keener and Brendan Gleeson in as yet undisclosed roles, while Zazie Beetz reprises her character as Arthur’s neighbor Sophie. The film will not be released until October 4, 2024. This feature film will remain unconnected to the new DC Extended Universe, which will begin with Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
Joker: Folie à Deux is scheduled to premiere on October 4, 2024. To shorten the long wait, you can see joker and the multi-award-winning performance of Joaquin Phoenix on HBO Max.
