Anthropic’s New AI Model Available in Claude Chat
-
Enterprise clients can also access it via API.
Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is developing by leaps and bounds. A little over a year and a half ago, OpenAI first introduced ChatGPT. The chatbot was so impressive that the company, led by Sam Altman, soon positioned itself as industry leader. The competition hasn’t rested on its laurels, however, and some of its solutions are really interesting.
Anthropic, a firm founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, has just released Claude 3.5 Sonnet. We’re talking about a next-generation language model that aims to match or improve on GPT-4o in several benchmarks. While we should be careful when judging model performance based on benchmarks, the newest version of Anthropic looks very promising.
Claude 3.5 Sonnet can create a website or game for you.
As we can see in the table below, Claude 3.5 Sonnet outperforms GPT-4o in seven out of nine overall tests. Although the difference is small, it is a noteworthy characteristic because takes the best of OpenAI. This becomes even more noticeable when you consider that the Claude 3.5 Sonnet is a mid-range model. Looking ahead, Anthropic should update its most ambitious Opus family yet.
In fact, Claude 3.5 Sonnet performs better than Claude 3 Opus in all tests. You might be wondering what this all means. The answer, according to its creators, is that it has improved coding and translation capabilities. The latter can be very useful for enterprise customers who access the AI model through an API to manage legacy applications.
The model also boasts greater ability to understand graphs and tables, as well as decipher text from images. The improvements don’t stop there: in our tests, we noticed that it was programmed to communicate more humanely and even has a “sense of humor” that many may find enjoyable. As if that weren’t enough, it includes a feature called Artifacts.
Anthropic aims to enrich the interaction with Claude Chat. It’s no secret that ChatGPT can help us create web pages and is even capable of interpreting documents to create graphs and tables. Artifacts takes this to the next level by showing us what we’re doing in a side window. And its ability to create interactive graphics, SVG images, and even games is amazing.
How to start creating a web page or graphic using Claude AI?
The possibilities that the newest version of Anthropic gives us are huge, but here we’ll look at where to start. After this, each user can give let your imagination run wild create your own creations or adapt the tool to your needs. The first step is to log into cloud.ai. After registration, we need to click on the profile icon in the upper right corner and enter Feature Preview.
Within Feature Preview we will find Artifacts. If we want, we can activate this experimental tool by setting the switch to the “On” position. From now on, we will be able to use the advanced capabilities of the chatbot. We might ask you to make a crab in vector graphics to represent a simplified building with windows that light up when you hover over them.
We can also upload an image of an Excel document to Claude Chat to analyze it and create an interactive graph. Similarly, we can use this tool to create a website or a simple game. We will do everything using natural language and split screen with the result. Once our project is ready, we can use the “Download File” button to save it to our computer and continue working.
Sonnet Claude 3.5 and Artifacts are available for free in Claude Chat, but with restrictions. We can send a certain number of messages. Once exhausted, we will have to wait several hours until the system allows us to interact with it again. Additionally, the basic AI model will be slower than if we had a $20/month paid subscription.
