Juarez City.- Darío Lezcano started as a starter and took the night by scoring two goals in the victory of the Bravos de Juárez 3-0 over the Xolos de Tijuana in Matchday 2 of the Clausura 2023 Liga MX, this Saturday night.
In front of 11,921 fans in the stands of the Benito Juárez Stadium, the Juárez team added their first three points of the tournament, after starting with a defeat last week.
The Paraguayan Lezcano once again saw himself as the player who won the affection of the fans, not only for the two goals he scored tonight, but also for the work he did during the 85 minutes he was on the pitch, in the that he was seen protecting the ball with his back to the goal and fighting to recover it in the front zone.
The first goal of the match came at minute 13 through a penalty, after the referee marked a handball inside the area. Jesús Dueñas was in charge of collecting and put the ball to the right of goalkeeper José Rodríguez, who had gone the other way.
Five minutes later, Xolos had a dangerous arrival with a cross sent by the right wing, but Alejandro Arribas fought off the penalty area and sent a corner kick. In the play, the defender of the Juárez team was slightly beaten.
The game fell into a rut with few goal moves in both goals, until in the 30th minute, Alan Medina, in a long drop down the right, sent a cross that Lezcano tried to finish off with a Chilean kick, but the ball went wide.
At minute 33, Bravos had a corner kick from the right. Lezcano headed back, gave the ball spin and placed it close to Rodríguez’s right post.
In added time of the first half, Alfredo Talavera dressed as a hero by taking the ball practically over the goal line to a shot by Lucas Rodríguez.
In the first minutes of the second half, the Xolos were somewhat offensive in search of the goal, but at 53′ Bravos took a corner kick from the right, Lezcano finished off over the heart of the area and this time sent the ball to the back of the nets attached to the left post.
