‘Lieutenant Dan’, the Tampa man who decided to brave Hurricane Milton on his boat, survived
There is chaos in Florida with Hurricane ‘Milton’. Fear took shape. Hurricane Milton, which has been described as a monster, made landfall as a Category 3 at about 8:30 pm on Wednesday and weakened to a Category 2 shortly after.
One of the personal stories is that of Joseph Malinowski, also known as Lieutenant Dan. The man refused to be evacuated and decided to remain in his small boat. Authorities have advised people not to remain on boats or venture into difficult conditions, as they put their lives and the lives of potential rescuers at risk.

This is nothing compared to what I have faced in my life. This doesn’t scare me. The safest place to be in a flood is to stay on a boat. We learned this with Noah. Whoever remained on land drowned. “Noah and the animals lived,” he comments.

And anyone who tries to get me out of here is not of God because God told me this is the right thing for me and so I’m doing it,” Malinowski explained.
