“Love and Death”: The story behind the new HBO series starring Elizabeth Olsen

Candy Montgomery, also known as Candance Wheeler by her maiden name, will be the protagonist of the new series on the on-demand content platforms, HBO Max and Hulu; and she will be played by the American actress and model, Elizabeth Olsen.

But who is the woman in question? She was not a scientist, much less a renowned author, she was a housewife who became famous after she murdered her friend named Betty Gore with an ax, who in turn was the wife of her lover The murder took place in the city of Wylie, Texas, on June 13, 1980; and during the attack, Gore received 41 ax blows.

Candy’s case has been taken from horror to crime books, movies, and documentaries. The story with religious nuances, due to the fact that Montgomery frequently attended the Lucas Methodist Church, in Collins County, make this plot a true thriller.

According to the true facts, Candy committed the crime while Allan – Betty’s husband – was out of town. After her also lover tried to contact his wife by phone without much success, he asked the neighbors to come to her house to investigate; They forced the door open and found Gore’s body.

Allan and Betty’s daughter was sleeping in the other room when the crime occurred.

The series titled love and death Directed by Lesli Linka Glatter and written by David E. Kelley, it will premiere on April 27 on HBO Max and Hulu. The cast is made up of Elizabeth Olsen as Candy Montgomery; Jesse Plemons as Allan Gore; Patrick Fugit as Pat Montgomery; and Lily Rabe as Betty Gore, among others.
