During his tenure in the European Parliament he has stood up to defend the Palestinian cause. Within the European Chamber Pineda is chairman of the Delegation for EU relations with Palestine, although Israel has vetoed his entry on two occasions due to him being considered a “threat” by Tel Aviv authorities, the same sources say. He is also Vice-President of the Intergroup of Solidarity with Western Sahara.
