Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, Barry Keoghan and others attended the W’s Best Performances 2024 party: see all photos
It has become one of Hollywood’s most fabulous awards season traditions. W held its annual Best Performances party at Chateau Marmont on Friday. Hosting: W Editor-in-Chief Sarah Moonves and Large magazine editor Lynn Hirshberg brought together celebrities and the year’s top performers for an intimate evening that packed the hotel’s famed penthouse to celebrate the magazine’s latest portfolio photographed by Juergen Teller and kick off Golden Globes weekend.
W Cover stars and Golden Globe nominees Margot Robbie and Colman Domingo were among the first guests to arrive, each of whom immediately embraced Moonves and Hirshberg and admired the floor-to-ceiling images that adorned the walls. “This is very, look and cool,” said Robbie. Even cooler? The moment Hirshberg introduced Robbie to one of his biggest fans: Nicolas Cage, whom she had never met before. (“I’m a big fan of Margot Robbie; she’s one of my favorite actresses,” Hirshberg said recently.) Barbie The star blushed at their introduction and said the admiration was mutual.
The event, hosted by Christian Louboutin, was full of excitement and fun ahead of the Golden Globes on Sunday. Emma Stone, who received rave reviews for her role as Bella Baxter in Poor things, was filled with well-wishers including Julia Garner and Robbie before heading out onto the terrace to meet Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. Da’Vine Joy Randolph posed playfully next to her W lid. Ayo Edebiri danced with her longtime friends Molly Gordon and Rachel Sennott. There was a mini Bear reuniting Edibiri and his co-stars Abbie Elliott and Lionel Boyce, who were also among the crowd. Kaia Gerber smiled while taking a selfie with Callum Turner, star Boys in a boat and upcoming Masters of the Air (opposite Gerber’s boyfriend Austin Butler). Taraji P. Henson had a fireside chat with Gabrielle Union. Color PurpleDanielle Brooks from the magazine congratulated Barry Keoghan on his success Saltburn. And Kathryn Hahn showered James Marsden with praise for Duty of the jury. Meanwhile, Greta Gerwig filmed her Ryan Gosling, aka “Just Ken,” whose photo stared down from the ceiling. Gerwig was among the year’s most celebrated directors, including Todd Haynes, Celine Song and A.V. Rockwell, who took advantage of the opportunity to relax and socialize ahead of the busy awards campaign season.
Also present were Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Franz Rogowski, ContinuityJ. Smith Cameron and Ariane Moyad, Jon Hamm and wife Anna Osceola, Route CEO Evan Walker, Brian Lourd, Kevin Huvane, Chike Okonkwo and many more.
Signature cocktails from Casamigos tequila flowed until the early morning, and DJ Ross One, as always, continued to listen to hits. At the 11th hour, Leonardo DiCaprio made a surprise appearance along with Tobey Maguire and Lukas Haas, while DiCaprio’s girlfriend Vittoria Cerretti, looking casual in jeans and trainers, chatted with girlfriends.
In memory of an unforgettable evening, guests took away an exclusive leaflet from WThe complete Best Performances portfolio, sponsored by Christian Louboutin and including a retro sticker set, is a guaranteed collector’s item for film fans and fashion aficionados alike.
