Margot Robbie, her husband Tom Ackerley and her lucky-happy producing partner Josie McNamara talk to “Extra’s” Terry Seymour at Variety’s Power of Women at the Citizen News in Los Angeles, where the trio were being honored with the Producer of the Year Award .
Terry commented on the huge success of her “Barbie” film, which grossed $1.4 billion dollars.
“We have to pinch ourselves sometimes,” Josie said. I think it’s great to be able to work with Emerald (Fennell) and Greta (Gerwig). “If we have to keep going, that’s all we can ask for.”
The film’s music received 11 Grammy nominations, including Ryan Gosling’s song “I’m Just Kane”.
Tom joked, “He’s on his way, isn’t he?”
Margot added, “I was sending him a lot of things for Halloween. I don’t think I congratulated him for the song, I should have texted him after and done that.
Ackerley added, “Credit to all the musicians and Mark (Ronson) and the cast. “It’s absolutely amazing.”

Terry asked if he ever imagined when he signed on that the film would be so successful. “Exactly what we planned,” Margot joked with a smile.
The trio also shot down rumors that they are pursuing the screen rights to Britney Spears’ memoir.
“Sadly, no,” Josie said. Sadly no. He has an amazing story. I am sure he will find the right people. “We are not pursuing it.”
Margot continued, “Everyone said it tonight, and we were like, ‘What’s going on?'”
