Health authorities Nigeria (NCDC) registered 12 new cases one death from Lassa fever was confirmed in 3 states of the federation in the last week (April 29 – May 5, 2024).
In 2024, 28 states in the country reported a confirmed case in 124 local government areas. People aged 31 to 40 suffer the most from this disease.
63% of all confirmed cases are from 3 states (Ondo, Edo and Bauchi). Ondo accounted for 24%, Edo 22% and Bauchi 17%.
