Medical Schools Sign Agreement with CECAMED – Dependencies Bulletins

Leon, Gto. January 18, 2023.- The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, led the signing of Collaboration Agreements with Universities that Train Human Resources for Health and the State Commission for Medical Conciliation and Arbitration (CECAMED).

These agreements are to link public and private universities in the state of Guanajuato that teach medicine with CECAMED, and train undergraduate and postgraduate students to reduce complaints about the provision of health services, in addition to favoring spaces for safe practice.

“I am sure that these agreements will come to enrich the curricular programs of our universities that train human resources in the area of ​​health; It will promote a culture of professional responsibility to acquire knowledge of everything legal that guarantees the defense of the rights of patients.

“The exchange of information that allows an effective and correct implementation of the academic contents in the training programs will also be promoted,” said the Governor.

All these actions, he added, will contribute to a better service, because in Guanajuato there are the best public and private hospitals, and also the best universities for health and medicine.

CECAMED, the De La Salle Bajío University, the Quetzalcóatl University of Irapuato, the Latin University of Mexico, the Celaya campus, the University of Guanajuato and the University of Celaya participated in this agreement; and as witnesses of honor, the Municipal President of León, Alejandra Gutiérrez Campos, and the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, signed the document.

For his part, the State Commissioner of Medical Arbitration, Jaime Hernández Centeno, said that with these agreements, Guanajuato once again demonstrates its leadership in health matters.

“I congratulate the rectors for embracing this project and seeing it materialize. It is not a minor thing, this project is unique in the country, and we are the pioneer state that begins with this project to bring conciliation of medical arbitration and mediation to the classrooms”, said the Commissioner.

CECAMED is a specialized instance that, through mediation, conciliation and arbitration, contributes to resolving conflicts between users and providers of medical services.

New School of Medicine

The Governor also inaugurated the building that houses the Bajío School of Medicine at the De La Salle Bajío University, where 900 students and future doctors develop academically with the best cutting-edge equipment.

“With this new educational infrastructure, the door will be opened so that more young people can study a career in the medical area and this is a great commitment to the health and quality of life of families, not only in Guanajuato, but throughout Mexico” said the Governor.

For his part, the Rector of the De La Salle Bajío University, German Enrique González Álvarez, said that the responsibility of the University is to train generations of excellence, with professionals capable of providing social service.

“The University is ratifying the responsibility of training ethical and competent doctors, and that they are recognized as the best in the country, since talking about the De La Salle School of Medicine is synonymous with academic excellence,” said the Rector.

Present at this event were the Secretary of the Government, Libya Denisse García Muñoz Ledo; the Secretary of Health, Daniel Alberto Díaz Martínez; of Education, Jorge Enrique Hernández Meza; Human and Social Development, Jesús Oviedo Herrera; for Transparency and Accountability, Carlos Salvador Martínez Bravo; as well as representatives of the participating academic institutions.
