Mercadona adapts its summer schedule in the Murcia region: here are the changes

Mercadona is now preparing to better serve its customers during the summer season. Throughout the year, the regular opening hours of the Valencia supermarket chain are from 9:00 to 21:30, always on weekdays.

Mercadona has decided to adapt to the needs of each municipality and announced that, due to the onset of the holiday period, it will extend its normal opening hours in some municipalities with a particular influx of tourists. These cities are usually coastal cities where closing times are delayed by half an hour.

The new summer opening hours will be from 9:00 to 22:00, that is, the opening hours of its establishments are extended by half an hour. The date of this change is valid from June 24 to September.

To cope with the changes, the supermarket chain began hiring hundreds of temporary workers in April to supplement its workforce of more than 100,000 from May to September, a time that coincides with tourists arriving and the rest of its staff on holiday. The starting remuneration for a full-time position as a supermarket employee from Monday to Saturday is €1,553 per month gross.
