Microsoft just announced a series of changes to Xbox Game Pass, the subscription service that provides access to games catalogopens the door to online multiplayer gaming and also offers other benefits such as discounts on purchases.

As we mentioned above, Microsoft has decided to say goodbye to Xbox Game Pass for consoles. This means that this tier will no longer accept new members. If you have an active subscription and have paid auto-renewal enabled, you will be able to continue using this subscription.

Say Hello to the New Xbox Game Pass Standard

The changes are related to the announcement of a new level called Xbox Game Pass Standard Subscription. As the name suggests, this is not the most complete (or most expensive) alternative from Redmond. The main difference from the other levels is that it will not include games from launch day.

Another tier that doesn’t include games from launch day is Xbox Game Pass Core. For example, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will only be available on launch day (later this year) on the Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass for PC, and Xbox Game Pass for Console tiers.

However, Xbox Game Pass Standard will offer all the benefits of Game Pass Core, such as online multiplayer, deals and discounts, and a catalog of “hundreds of high-quality console games.” It should be noted that until now there is no specific date to launch it.
