MLB clarified status and dates of the rosters by countries to the World Classic 2023 – SwingCompleto

The World Baseball Classic has not seen action since 2017 and certainly its return for March of this year is highly attractive for fans of the sport of balls and strikes, who this 2023 dream again of seeing the best on the field. The status and dates of the country rosters were clarified by the MLB, as several names and full teams remain a mystery.

Apparently the confusion comes mostly from the Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB), which has insisted that all the teams already delivered their 50-dollar payroll and even just a few days ago (after receiving OFAC permission for players residing in the United States) the FCB said that soon it would be making those 50 names public.

Step 1:

Each of the 20 countries competing in this Classic (the first time this format has been used with 5 teams per group) is still moving pieces and manages a “list of players interested” in attending the event, which can be up to 50 but It is not an official roster.

Step 2:

On Friday, January 6, the 20 rosters will be made official, with 35 players belonging to them and which is considered a “preliminary or preselection roster.”

Step 3:

On Tuesday, February 7, the World Classic will announce the final and official rosters, with 30 players per nation.

With the dates of the rosters clarified, it is not necessary to remind you that the event will be played between March 8 and 21, with the LoanDepot Park in Miami being the largest witness, since it will host all the games of Group D (Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Israel, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua), in addition to the quarterfinals, semifinals and the title match of the 2023 World Classic.
