Although the main heroes of Mobile World Congress are Samsung smart rings, Xiaomi car and Lenovo transparent screen laptop, there is a product that also attracted a lot of attention: Energizer P28Kmobile phone from a popular battery manufacturer that boasts a smartphone with the largest battery in the world.
IN Hypertext We got to spend some time with it and it’s really interesting because of its huge battery capacity. The Energizer P28K has no more and no less than 28,000 mAh, a brutal amount compared to other high-end smartphones. To give you an idea, the Honor Magic 6 Pro, one of the phones showcased at MWC, has a 5600mAh battery; and this is already a considerable amount for a mobile phone.
Energizer claims that the Energizer P28K’s 28,000mAh capacity allows the device to last up to 2,252 hours of battery life. support (i.e. blocked); which corresponds to approximately 94 days. It can also offer up to 122 hours of talk time, about 5 days. Of course, such a large battery has its drawbacks.
Mobile brick
First of all, the phone is very thick. The thickness is 27.8 mm.. For comparison, the thickness of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is 8.3 mm, the Honor Magic 6 Pro is 8.9 mm, and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is 9.2 mm. It is also very heavy: 570 grams compared to, for example, 232 grams of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Because of this, using the Energizer P28K with one hand is very difficult, although its screen is not very large: 6.78 inches.
On the other side, Energizer P28K charging power is 33 W.. It is not only inferior to many mobile phones from brands like Xiaomi or Vivo, but also makes the 28,000 mAh charge almost forever.
Mobile, by the way lasting. That is, it is resistant to shocks and falls. It is also IP69 certified, making it water and dust resistant.
Apart from the battery, the Energizer P28K is an entry-level mobile phone as it has quite slim specifications. We find, we repeat, a 6.78-inch panel with Full HD+ resolution. It is also powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 processor with 256GB of internal storage and a triple rear camera setup. His price?, about 250 euros.
