The Davis Cup is played from today until November 24 in Malaga. This will be the last tournament of Rafa Nadal’s professional career: the winner of 22 majors retires at the age of 38 with the goal of winning his last Davis Cup (sixth of his career).
- He shares the team with Carlos Alcaraz, Pedro Martinez, Roberto Bautista and Marcel Granollers.
Playoffs. Spain opens today at 17:00 with the first individual match against the Netherlands on the center court of the José María Martín Carpena Sports Palace (Malaga).
- The Spaniard is yet to confirm whether he will play this first match.
- Although it is known that Carlos Alcaraz will fight in another individual match.
Farewell to the symbol. Nadal is retiring 23 years after starting his professional tennis career, widely regarded as one of the most formidable opponents in the history of the sport. The injuries he has suffered since 2022 forced him to break the news last October.
- And he does it without thinking about goodbye: “I’m not here to retire, I’m here to help the team,” he said in an interview before the tournament.
