Luck is back in the province of Leon, and this time in style. The first prize of the National Lottery went to a number that was completely sold out in the city of Leon.

The city of Sahagún won the first prize in the lottery this Saturday, July 27, under number 44143. Each ticket, which is worth six euros, has a prize of 60,000 euros. The draw raised 4.2 million euros thanks to the sale of 70 tenths of the first prize, all sold out in Sahagún.

“It’s a huge joy, and I can’t believe it,” Sheila Pinto, one of the administration’s employees, told the publication. Giving away millions of dollars in happiness is always an illusion for the employees or owners of the administrations, but when the prize stays in the region and falls among the “lifelong” neighbors, it is even greater.

Your father’s number

As the place fills with customers and emotions run high, Sheila insists that the most important thing is that “this is a number we’ve been following our whole lives,” so she “personally” knows many of the lucky ones who haven’t stopped “messaging me asking if it’s true.”

The employee now recalls some stories that make her even more proud of winning first place, like the story of a woman who “lost her father three years ago and he always played this number, and now she’s carried on the tradition.” The emotion she shares with dozens of neighbors she knows will never forget this Saturday is that if there was one phrase Sheila Pinto repeated on the other end of the phone, it was this: “I’m so happy for the people here, because they’re missing and they deserve it.

Great prizes in Sahagun

The responsibility for distributing this millionth rain was taken over by the Leonese city council No. 1, located at Flora Flores Street No. 2. A council that has already had great moments of celebration throughout its history, the most recent of which was last year.

To mark the occasion, they also gave away the National Lottery first prize in a special draw for Constitution Day, December 9, 2023. on a break, but “she’ll be just as happy, she’s been here for over 40 years and won’t have to retire for a long time with this joy,” says her partner Sheila.

There was another first prize draw on Thursday 10 February and a third prize was awarded in a special Christmas draw on 22 December 2020.

Bonoloto, pool and other National Lottery prizes complete the list of eight festivities that the Sahagún administration has been holding since 2015.

The last reward in Leon

An award that adds to the long list of winners in the province. On Saturday, July 20, the National Lottery drew the Olazábal de Armuña Estanco, another first prize.

In this case, the reception office, located at 29 San Juan Bosco Street, sold one or two tenths of the number 11,749 through the terminal, and each received 60,000 euros.

The National Lottery continues to bring great joy to the province of León, where this Saturday almost a hundred families will raise a glass to a prize of 60,000 euros.
