New Toyota Yaris Electric Hybrid 130H with more equipment and power

The Toyota Yaris is being updated and doing so in a big way to maintain its great success since its launch in 2020. Now the new range builds on the Yaris’s previous achievements, enhancing its appeal in key areas and incorporating new technologies to improve efficiency. make it more irresistible. The general aesthetics have been preserved, but the technological equipment has been improved. Performance, safety and styling have been updated and improved to ensure that the model continues to be the B-segment leader in Europe. It has also added a third mechanical variant to its range.

Key new features include a new, more powerful motor generator (from 59 kW in the 120H to 62 kW in the 130H) with important and innovative safety and driver assistance functions, as well as a new multimedia system that expands the potential of digital technology. . These new features are consistent with the qualities that have contributed to the popularity of the Yaris: a reliable car that makes life easier for the user, fun to drive and exceptionally efficient.

Built in Europe for European customers, the new Yaris builds on the model’s award-winning reputation for stylistic and technical innovation and excellence in the compact car segment.

More power and more driving pleasure

The new Yaris offers customers the option of a new MG2 electric motor with torque ranging from 141 Nm in the 120H to 185 Nm in the 130H. This new engine option takes advantage of Toyota’s 5th generation hybrid technology to improve acceleration response. It is this performance profile that is increasingly becoming a priority for B-segment customers, especially those considering downgrading to a smaller car.

Toyota broadens the Yaris’s appeal in one important way: the hybrid powertrain is the most important purchasing factor for buyers. The 1.5-litre system has proven itself to be a leader in fuel efficiency and emissions reduction since launch, as well as its ability to go further in pure electric mode. These qualities have been retained and reworked to increase power.

The fundamental change is the introduction of a new hybrid transmission with a more powerful motor-generator (from 59 to 62 kW), as well as adjustments to the software and hardware of the power control unit (PCU). The result is an increase in total system power by 12%: from 116 hp. according to DIN/85 kW up to 130 hp according to DIN/96 kW. Power is noticeable thanks to a 30% increase in the maximum torque of the MG2 electric motor – from 141 Nm to 185 Nm, available at all engine speeds.

This results in half a second faster: 0 to 100 km/h takes just 9.2 seconds. Likewise, it has greater acceleration when overtaking and accelerates from 80 to 120 km/h in 7.5 seconds.

Toyota’s extensive experience in hybrid technology ensures that CO2 emissions remain class-leading at 87–98 g/km and fuel consumption remains at 3.9–4.3 l/100 km (WLTP combined cycle figures).

Other fuel-saving features include State of Charge (SOC), which uses data from the navigation system to ensure maximum battery charge levels when driving in electric mode to get the most out of the vehicle. , motion and gradient. The 130H engine is available in the new Yaris Premiere Edition and GR Sport models.
