New York is committed to urban air mobility and is giving Skyports a new helipad.

New York has taken a major step toward the future of urban air mobility by creating Skyports as operator of the midtown Manhattan heliport, one of the city’s most iconic aviation sites.

The New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced that after a competitive selection process, Downtown Skyport LLC will become the new entity responsible for operating the helipad. The organization is an alliance between Skyports Infrastructure, a British vertiport developer that also operates London’s helicopter facility, and a French group.
