Mike Coppola/Getty Images for MTVNicki Minaj will celebrate the release of her new album with a world tour that includes a stop in the Nutmeg State.
The rapper announced on her website that she would be performing in Hartford during “The Pink Friday 2 World Tour”. Other areas of the Northeast where he is set to perform include Newark, New Jersey and Brooklyn and New York City. Outside the United States, she will also make stops in the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The exact times and locations of the stops have not been announced yet.
The tour celebrates Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2” album, which is scheduled to be released on December 8, the artist’s birthday. Minaj told Vogue that the album was “written from the vantage point of a woman who got a lot of the things she dreamed about. And yet the past still hurts.”
“People who excel at something make it look easy, but they also struggle with a great fear of letting people down and letting themselves down. Once you do that, it feels like Anything you say can be used against you. It’s the same as when you get arrested — that’s literally what it feels like to be famous,” Minaj told Vogue.
This won’t be Minaj’s first visit to Connecticut. In 2011, she joined Britney Spears and DJ Pauly D during a show at Hartford’s XL Center during the Fame Fatale Tour. He also mentions the Nutmeg State in his song “Outro”, released in 2009 as part of his “Beam Me Up Scotty” mixtape.
Minaj sings in “Outro”, “In Philly and Connecticut and Rhode Island and you know, in Ohio, and yes, everywhere I go, there’s a lot of love.”
