Nightdive Announces The Thing: Remastered for PC and Consoles
Nightdive Studios has announced The Thing: Remastered.
This remastering brings back the 2002 video game developed by Computer Artworks and licensed from John Carpenter’s The Thing, although it was a continuation of the story rather than an adaptation.
Moreover, the game even received the approval of Carpenter, who played a cameo role in it.
Captain J.F. Blake arrives with his squad to assist the characters from the original film at Base 31 in Antarctica. Of course, they encounter an alien creature that can impersonate any of them.
In the third-person action adventure The Thing, we especially remember the trust/fear mechanic, inspired by the paranoia of the characters in the film itself, and the infection mechanism that allowed NPCs to turn into a thing at any time.
This version allows you to play at up to 4K and 120fps, and there are improvements to controls, modeling, textures, animations and lighting, among other aspects.
The Thing: Remastered will be released in 2024 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
