Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) revealed that after a summer of constant increases prices for some products in supermarkets have dropped significantly. Although the overall decline in the consumer basket is minimal – 0.58% in September – these data represent slight relief from ongoing inflation affecting the food market.

Monthly monitoring carried out by OCU on 100 products in various chains such as Mercadona, Carrefour and Lidl shows the trend has been downward since June, with a cumulative decline of 0.7%.. However, fruits and vegetables continue to suffer the most from the increase, with an increase of 6.59%.
