OnePlus Open, OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R are now official in Germany as part of the OnePlus comeback.
OnePlus is back in Germany after the global launch of the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R last week (it’s currently $599.99 on Amazon). Let’s remember that both OnePlus and Oppo suspended sales there after a regional court confirmed Nokia’s claim of infringement of intellectual property rights in relation to 5G technologies. Both later stated that they would not withdraw from any other European market, although both did so unofficially on many occasions.
Currently, OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R are already available for pre-order throughout the eurozone without any explanation, as is OnePlus Open. However, the resolution of the patent disputes between Oppo and Nokia seems to be the catalyst for OnePlus’ return to Europe. In short, Oppo agreed to pay Nokia royalties for several years, including those that the former incurred during the dispute.
Meanwhile, it looks like Oppo may be returning to Europe and the UK in some capacity. Despite never officially leaving countries other than Germany, Oppo has effectively frozen its presence in the UK, until recently listing the Find X5 Pro and Find N2 Flip on its online store. The company has now narrowed its portfolio to the latest entry- and mid-range phones, including the Reno 10. So we wouldn’t be surprised if today marks the start of a European renaissance for Oppo, and not just OnePlus.
