Founded by Robin Birley in May 2017, Oswald’s club is located at 25 Albemarle Street in London’s Mayfair, close to the area bordering St James’s Park and flanked by Regent Street and the iconic Piccadilly promenade. The current owner’s grandfather, Oswald Birley, a former portrait painter to the British royal family, inspired the name of the venue, whose interior, designed by Tom Bell and Bruce Cavell, is decorated in homage to the Palace of Versailles and includes Murano chandeliers, field and a dome that overlooks a terrace for smokers. However, the club’s biggest draw is undoubtedly its wine collection, which offers members both house bottles and the chance to store their own in the cellar.
