Paulino de la Fuente back in blue | Real Oviedo

Real Oviedo and Paulino de la Fuente have reached an agreement that will see the player return to the Blues until June 30, 2026.

Paulino de la Fuente Gómez, 27, was born on June 27, 1997 in Santander. After training in the youth ranks of Inter Milan and Atlético Madrid, the Cantabrian signed for Deportivo Alavés in the 2016/2017 season. He spent four seasons in the Vitorian reserve team, where he made his debut for the main team in a match against Celta Vigo on June 21, 2020.

From Vitoria, he will head to Logroño to join UD Logroñés in the second division. After that year in the silver category, Paulino de la Fuente signed for Malaga for the 2021/2022 season before crossing the pond. The Spaniard arrived at FC Pachuca and played an important role in the 2022 Apertura Trophy won by the Tuzos before joining Real Oviedo last season.

Defending the blue jersey, the Cantabrian, one of the standout players in the Carbajón attack, played a total of 37 games and added 1,542 minutes. With nine goals and one assist, Paulino de la Fuente had his best season in the Asturian capital since entering professional football and was an important player for Real Oviedo, which participated in the promotion playoffs and was close to reaching the first division. Now the winger returns to Oviedo to play for the second year under Xavi Calleja as a player for the Carbajón team.
