Pontevedra pharmacies raise awareness of sexually transmitted diseases
The Pontevedra College of Pharmacists is relaunching its ‘Break the Chain of Infection’ campaign in pharmacies across the province to raise awareness of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This initiative comes after a training session on STIs for pharmacists held last week, organized in collaboration with the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health.

The campaign will be presented on Tuesday at the school’s headquarters in Pontevedra and will be applied in the pharmacies of the affiliated province in the coming weeks.
The school itself emphasizes that “this initiative arose within the institution after studying alarming WHO data, which show that every day more than a million people become infected with STIs, which is associated, among other things, with an increase” in the increasing risk of sexual infection. practices and lack of health education on this issue, especially among young people”
The health campaign “Break the Chain of Infection” aims to raise public awareness of the rising incidence of STIs and raise awareness among youth about the need to protect themselves from STIs, using the environment as a communication channel.
