Oscar-winning soul star John Legend, rock diva Alanis Morissette and country artists Kacey Musgraves and Kane Brown are among the artists who will appear in a special “Christmas at Graceland” airing live Nov. 29 on NBC.
Hip-hop artist Post Malone, singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey, country singer Lainey Wilson and musical duo The War & Treaty are among the list of artists scheduled for the special, according to a press release issued Wednesday afternoon by NBC. Promise of “the greatest artist in music”
“The industry’s top artists will give audiences an intimate look inside Graceland and explain how Elvis inspired them through his love of Christmas, music and song,” the press release said. “Through these spectacular displays, audiences will be invited to witness firsthand the heritage and spirit of this treasured family home.”
The program, airing Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 9 p.m., comes 55 years after NBC promoted Elvis’ career when it aired the so-called “’68 Comeback Special” on Dec. 3, 1968. A ratings blockbuster, the show was actually titled “Singer Presents…Elvis”, sharing top billing with the program’s sponsor, Singer Sewing Machine Company, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

The 1968 special inspired NBC’s other recent Elvis program, a 2019 special titled “Elvis All-Star Tribute” which also featured Legend and Post Malone. Meanwhile, Morissette was among the musical friends of the late Lisa Marie Presley who performed during the January 22 memorial service for Elvis’ daughter.
The new Graceland special has shippable status on the NBC schedule. It is set to follow this year’s edition of “Christmas at Rockefeller Center,” a popular live event that NBC has hosted every year since 1997. The special event will be broadcast simultaneously on NBC and the network-affiliated Peacock streaming service.
According to NBC, “Christmas at Graceland” will bring “a star-studded line-up of music’s most sought-after artists” to Memphis. However, the network has not revealed many details about the program, so it is uncertain whether the show will follow a “concert” format or consist of large-scale performance segments in various areas of the mansion and estate.
Among the executive producers of the special are Graceland heiress and Elvis’ granddaughter Riley Keough, who will appear during the show.
