PS Portal now allows you to play games without PS5: this is how the new functionality works

This has been requested for a long time, but it has finally become a reality. PS Portal, PlayStation’s remote gaming device, will no longer require a PS5 to run console games on the device. This functionality, which is currently in beta testing, will only be available to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, as confirmed by the company in an official statement. Via streaming, you can enjoy a catalog of 120 PS5 games, including Marvel Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima or Ratchet and Clank: A Separate Dimension. It is currently not compatible with previous generation games, although this may also change.

During beta testing of the game will reach 1080p/60fpsbut you won’t be able to use features like game testing, streaming games purchased from the PS Store, the Create button, 3D audio, in-game stores, party voice chat, and game invites on some products. • Have a PlayStation Portal Remote Play device.
• PlayStation Network account.
• Active PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.

  -A minimum upload and download speed of 5Mbps is required to establish a cloud streaming session.
  -Streaming in 720p requires a minimum speed of 7Mbps.
  -1080p streaming requires a minimum speed of 13Mbps.

How to access the beta on PS Portal

• Open the Quick Menu and access Settings in your PS Portal.
• Click the “Cloud Streaming (Beta)” button.
• Activate the Cloud Streaming (beta) feature, which is disabled by default.
• The option will appear on the main screen.

Certainly, The beta version is only available for PS Portal.. At least for now, PlayStation hasn’t revealed its plans for bringing these options to devices like mobile phones or tablets.
