Real Madrid signed Rayo Vallecano left-back Fran García, who will join the Merengue team at the end of the season, confirmed the Rayista president, Raúl Martín Presa, and coach Carlo Ancelotti.

“We have reached an agreement with Real Madrid, Fran García will go at the end of the year,” said Martín Presa, in statements to the Cope network at dawn this Wednesday.
“It’s growing and I think it can give things to Real Madrid,” added Presa, although neither team has made any official announcement.
Letting the player continue to progress at Rayo has been one of the white team’s arguments for not trying to gain the services of the young right-back, despite Ferland Mendy’s injury in that position.
“We have evaluated two things, first that Mendy’s injury could be recovered quite soon and that it is good for him (García) to continue at Rayo to progress and increase his experience,” Ancelotti said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Presa explained that the intervention of Real Madrid prevented García from signing for the German Bayer Leverkusen in the recently closed transfer window.

García, 23, trained in the Real Madrid youth academy before being loaned to Rayo in 2020, who completed his transfer the following year, although Real Madrid retained 50% of his rights.
