Since the middle of last week, bites have become more frequent, and a large number of larvae have appeared. As usual, most cases are concentrated in Moana, where the first tiger mosquitoes were discovered and where the population is more receptive to warnings about the presence of new specimens. All notifications came from the parish of Tiran, the worst affected by the problem, also in late summer 2023. No risk
In any case, despite this rebound and the pain caused by tiger mosquito bites, they are usually not dangerous, since no specimens with dengue, chikungunya or Zika viruses have been found in the community, since in other areas of the planet these mosquitoes are the vector of transmission of these viruses.
