According to the “Overall Company Ranking 2024” prepared by the Business Reputation Monitor, Repsol is among the top five of the 100 companies with the best reputation in Spain and ranks first in the energy, gas and water sector, followed by Iberdrola and Endesa Corporate (MERCO).

In terms of top leaders, Ignacio Galan, executive president of Iberdrola, is ranked eighth, while Josue John Imaz, CEO of Repsol, is ranked 10th for the first time.

Significantly behind them are the other energy companies: Endesa (30), Cepsa (34), Naturgy (44), Acciona (56), Enagás (85), Holaluz (138), with one of the biggest falls for Redeia (148), EDP (167) and Técnicas Reunidas (194).

Almost 65,000 surveys

Merco, the benchmark monitor of its ethical commitments and methodology, this Thursday presented the 200 companies and 100 leaders with the best reputation of 2024. These rankings are the result of an exhaustive and detailed analysis of more than 63,435 surveys, 7 assessments and 28 information sources.

The Business Monitor is independently verified by KPMG in accordance with the ISAE 3000 standard, confirming its rigor and ethical commitment. As a result of continuous progress and methodological adaptation, this year the analytical capabilities have been increased by increasing the number of companies assessing the results from 100 to 200.

The 24th edition involved 1,195 managers of large companies, 703 experts from the business world (76 directors and opinion leaders, 61 economic journalists, 85 government officials, 77 business professors, 90 financial analysts, 83 social media managers, 105 NGO leaders, 69 trade union leaders and 57 heads of consumer associations), 400 SME managers, 52,131 Merco Talento participants (workers, university students, business school graduates, university and business school teachers, HR managers, recruiters, trade union members and citizens) and 8,923 citizens (Merco Sociedad). In addition to these assessments, an analysis of the digital environment of companies (Merco Digital) and a benchmarking of objective company indicators are also carried out.
