Result and chronicle of the pre-season friendly match Granada – Almeria | Granada CF
The second friendly match in the preseason ended with the team’s defeat with a score of 1:2. Granada CF who received UD Almería at the Escribano Castilla in Motril, with the stands full of red and white shirts and scarves. All the goals were scored in the first half, thanks to the efforts of Luis Suárez and Baptistao for the Indalico team and Weissman for the Nasrids.
For this match, Guillermo Abascal fielded the following starting lineup: Luca in goal; Oscar, Miguel Rubio, Insua and Carlos Neva at the back; Gonzalo Villar and Martin Hongla in midfield; and Lucas Boye and Weissman up front.
The match started with a goal scored by Luis Suarez in the 2nd minute. The Granada team persistently tried to equalize the score, but in the 23rd minute Baptistao found a goal and doubled the advantage of Almeria.
Granada did not stop their efforts and in the 35th minute they saw Weissman’s goal on the scoreboard from a corner kick taken by Gonzalo, which was extended by Hongla.
Granada were looking for a draw before the break, but both teams went to the dressing room with the score still tied 1-2 at the Escribano Castilla stadium.
In the second half, Abascal made the following changes: Marc for Luca between the sticks; Ignasi Mikel for Pablo Insua; Brau for Neva on the left bank; and Sergio Ruiz for Hongla.
As the second 45 minutes began, Granada saw Weissman’s goal disallowed due to a foul.
Wanting to give his players more minutes, Rodelas replaced Pablo Saenz on the 55th minute, and just 10 minutes later, Uzouni, Famara Diedhiou and Melendo replaced Weissman, Jozwiak and Lucas Boye.
Abascal’s team dominated possession but failed to find the opponent’s goal, so the match ended without further changes in the score.
