River Plate is preparing the first offer to close the contract with BOMB in 2024
River Plate are taking the first steps to secure the return of Rafael Santos Borre, marking their first big move in the transfer market next year. The Colombian striker, on loan at Werder Bremen, belongs to Eintracht Frankfurt, whose contract with the player expires in December 2025.
While details of the offer have not been made public, sources close to the negotiations suggest that River Plate could face costs of around $7 million to secure Borre’s return. The 28-year-old would have expressed interest in returning to the club, which would have raised positive expectations for Nunez.
I deleted it, an old friend who may return
Rafael Santos Borre made his mark at River Plate between 2017 and 2021, becoming top scorer under Marcelo Gallardo. Although his departure occurred with a pass in his possession, which could complicate his return, it appears that negotiations are progressing positively.
Coach Martin Demichelis’ request to bolster the attacking front with a player similar to Julián Alvarez or Lucas Beltrán led to Borra being considered. The coach is also evaluating Facundo Colidio’s ability to fill this particular role.
Borre’s impressive record in his previous spell at River Plate (56 goals in 159 games) is keeping his millionaire fans excited about his possible return and cementing his position as one of the team’s stars.
