Robin Roberts married Amber Lane.
The ‘Good Morning America’ host and masseuse confirmed the happy news that they have tied the knot after 18 years together, in a post on the Instagram account she created for her beloved dog, Lil Man Lucas.
He shared a photo of the dog sitting on a bench wearing a bow tie and wrote:
‘My mother is married!!!! Married?… Yes… Married!!! (sic)’.
Robyn herself later shared a photo of the dog in her wedding dress on her Instagram and wrote:
‘@lil_man_lukas looking stylish and ready to welcome guests to our wedding. Thank you everyone for your good wishes.
Last Thursday, the presenter shared footage of people going to get their marriage licenses as part of his ‘Road to the Ring’ video series.
He captioned the short clip:
‘The Road to the Ring is coming to an end… 18 years and it’s been worth the wait! #ThankfulThursday #HappyWeddingEve… This is a 2 shot featuring 3 wedding rings.’
Robin revealed last January that she and Amber, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, would marry this year.
This is what he said on ‘Good Morning America’:
‘I’m hesitant because I haven’t said it out loud yet… I’m saying yes to marriage. We will get married this year. It was something we talked about, but we put it off, she got sick, but this means saying yes to her and to the next chapter.’
In 2007, Robin also battled breast cancer and although she recovered, five years later she was diagnosed with the rare myelodysplastic syndrome and required a bone marrow transplant.
But the veteran broadcaster previously admitted that watching Amber’s health problems was more difficult than dealing with her own problems.
He told Ellen DeGeneres last year:
‘I went through it twice, barely shed a tear. Whenever I think about what Amber is going through, I feel like a puddle. But she is very brave and is handling it very well. I can kind of give her a roadmap because I’ve already thought about it, but she’s also given me a roadmap on how to be a caregiver. And I didn’t realize how much I had blocked out during my journey, and it was all thanks to the lovely Amber, as she protected me and guided me. So I am doing the same for him.
