Rory Culkin’s full frontal nude scene in swarm is inspired by the experience of one of the creators, Donald Glover.
The brother of Macaulay and Kieran Culkin plays a man to whom the main character, Dre (Dominique Fishback), loses his virginity.
In the morning after the encounter, Culkin’s character presents Dre with some cleverly arranged strawberries in a clear container, which he presses against his penis.
In an interview with insiders at the SXSW festival, the co-creator of swarmJanine Nabers, revealed that the scene was inspired by the singer, actor, writer and director.
“Donald told a very funny story about a girl he really liked and how, after they had sex, he just happened to stop by with a bowl of cherries,” Nabers recalled.
“She wasn’t the least bit interested, because it’s so weird to sleep with a guy you barely know and then wake up to see him holding a bowl of cherries.”
“I told him, ‘I’m going to steal that,’” Nabers said. “And he said, ‘Okay.’ So I did it.”
swarm tells the story of Dre, a superfan of a Beyoncé-like pop megastar named Ni’Jah, who ends up carrying out a series of murders for her favorite singer.
It is said that the title of the program, swarm (swarm) is inspired by the Beyoncé fan name “Beyhive” (the combination of Beyoncé and beehive).
The show has received a lot of attention for its cast, which includes Paris Jackson and Billie Eilish in her debut role. Chloe Bailey and Damson Idris also participate.
