RTVE “categorically” rejects the Russian veto and guarantees that its correspondent in Moscow will be retained

In one of his periodic appearances, Cascajosa explained this will make a statement regarding the banwhich will be transferred in groups. He also expressed the corporation’s solidarity with the rest of the European media affected by this ban, and affirmed the work of Radio Exterior de España and short wave, especially the Russian-language broadcasts of REE in the conflict zone, which guarantees that population’s right to information.

81 European media banned in Russia

Agencia EFE, El País and El Mundo are the other three Spanish media outlets included in the list of 81 European newspapers whose access is restricted in the region. This is the Kremlin’s response to the sanctions adopted by the Council of the European Union against three Russian media outlets (the RIA Novosti agency and the newspapers Izvestia and Rossiyskaya Gazeta) and which came into force this week.

With regard to the media in the 25 countries of the European Union (EU), “response measures have been introduced to limit broadcasts on the Internet from the territory of the Russian Federation and access to their resources.” Moscow argues that the lists “systematically disseminate unreliable information about the progress of a special military operation”, as the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began in February 2022, is known in Russia.
