Ariana Grande was in New York last week when a fan ran up and tried to record video of her.
In a video circulated on social media, she is seen walking out of a building to a crowd of excited fans. She moves forward and signs an autograph when the man comes running from behind.
He can be seen moving towards Ariana with the phone in his hand, as if he is trying to forcefully take a selfie with her, but the security guards him and pushes him away.
Ariana turns with a surprised look and starts yelling something at the fan – then, she turns back and continues signing autographs.
People found this very uncomfortable and worrying.
“This could have easily been so much worse,” one person wrote on Reddit.
Another sarcastically said, “All those big guys walking around and not a single person looking at him. Nice job guys, awesome teamwork.”
“Ariana Grande was so kind to take pictures with every fan there, and then someone had the audacity to grab her like that, it’s so disrespectful, I mean don’t touch my girl like that…” Another the fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Someone else said: “[This]is worrying. And she’s also very short. I’m 5’0.” It is strange (scary) to be surrounded and have someone approach you. What was that person’s intention?”
“I can’t imagine smiling and signing an autograph when some stranger comes up behind you and grabs you. Especially considering what he experienced in Manchester. What’s wrong with people thinking that Acceptable? Celebrities are not zoo animals,” said a fifth.
I couldn’t have said it better myself. You can watch the full video yourself here.
