Scientists have discovered the age that causes two sudden aging surges in humans
Aging is not something that happens overnight, but rather a gradual process. However, scientists have found two accelerated bursts of aging at two specific moments in life.
The researchers, from Stanford University and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, published their findings in the journal Natural agingAccording to them, there are two ages at which these aging surges are triggered: 44 and 60 years old.
They spent two years analyzing age-related changes in their RNA, proteins, and microbiome, CNN reports. 108 people from 25 to 75 years old.
Among the changes they observed, they noted a marked decline in the ability to metabolize caffeine or alcohol at this age. “Both age groups experienced changes in the proteins that hold tissues together, which likely helps explain changes in the skin, muscles and cardiovascular system“, CNN reports.
His research resulted in the following advice: take care of yourself in these two vital momentswith recommendations such as limiting alcohol consumption, improving diet, or increasing exercise.
