Selena Gomez’s Selena + Chef is heading to Food Network ahead of a planned holiday special, Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays.

“Offering special culinary moments is the way Food Network celebrates the holidays, so opening the doors to her home kitchen for superstar Selena Gomez, who has more than 650 million fans on social media, is a holiday dream come true for fans. As is,” Betsy Ayala, head of food content at Warner Bros. Discovery, shared,

“The holidays have always meant a lot to me,” Gomez said. “It was an honor to have these amazing cooks in my kitchen introduce some of their favorite foods and what makes the holidays special for them.”

Chefs Alex Guarnaschelli, Michael Symon, Claudette Zepeda and Eric Adjepong will join the actress for the special events.

“Gomez will learn how to make roast beef and creamy mashed potatoes from Guarnaschelli—and classic steak and lobster from Simon,” People informed of, “The actress will also learn to make Christmas tamales from Zepeda, and Adjepong will teach Gomez how to make shrimp and banana splits and a South African dish known as malva pudding to celebrate the New Year.”

SELENA + CHEF premiered in 2020. Like many people during the COVID-19 lockdown, Gomez started cooking and wanted to learn more from experienced chefs.

“Having some of the best chefs open their kitchens to me was a humbling and fun experience. I definitely learned that I have a lot more to learn,” she said told Seventeen days before the show’s premiere.

Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays, a four-part series of specials, will premiere on Food Network on November 30 at 8 p.m. Special special events will also be available to stream on Max.

Movieguide® first informed of On Selena + Chef:

Selena + Chef is a new, unscripted cooking series from singer/actress Selena Gomez that was filmed for HBO Max during quarantine. In the 10-episode series, Gomez receives virtual cooking lessons from professional chefs. As a beginning chef, Gomez learns new recipes and gets useful tips for working in the kitchen. Filmed in her private kitchen, viewers get the chance to learn helpful cooking tips and laugh at Gomez’s mishaps. While often fun and entertaining, the series does come with a few caveats…

There are some liberating elements to Selena + Chef. The series celebrates friendship, family and service. Gomez has lupus and often struggles with tasks that require heavy lifting. Her friends and relatives often stay nearby to help and enjoy participating in the cooking experience. They also enjoy tasting food together. Cooks often have family members who come to help or say “hello.” In one adorable moment, Gomez excited a chef’s teenage daughter by FaceTiming with Taylor Swift. The series also promotes learning and giving back, as Gomez learns to cook during quarantine as well as donate to various charities.
