Following the controversy caused by her reactions at the recent MTV Video Music Awards, Selena Gomez is back in the headlines after her latest song ‘Soon’ disappeared from major music platforms.
It was the artist’s own fans who raised the alarm during the early morning hours of Wednesday to Thursday, when the song was not available on applications such as Spotify, Deezer or Apple Music. There is no trace of it on Selena Gomez’s profile anymore, even though it was one of her most popular songs, and people who added it to their playlists can’t play it again.
Since then, different assumptions started being made in this regard. Some users of the ATRL forums believe that this is due to some kind of error that will be resolved as soon as possible, while others think that it may be an issue with the song’s credits due to it being old (demo The version was circulating on the internet since 2018).
The consequences of this alleged temporary removal are, for the time being, visible on TikTok, where it has ceased to be available and, therefore, also on all the videos in which it appeared. Nevertheless, the single ‘Soon’ can still be purchased on iTunes and its music video is still posted on YouTube.
The song is Selena Gomez’s first single since the release of ‘My Mind and Me’ in late 2022 and peaked at number 20 in the United States and number 21 in the United Kingdom. GenesisPop has contacted Universal Spain to find out what happened, but we have not yet received a response.
