Shakira and Karol G to appear together at MTV Video Music Awards

Caracas.- Colombian singer Shakira will become the first Latin American artist to receive MTV’s Video Vanguard Award. The Video Vanguard Award, the network’s most prestigious award, is given to artists who have made a significant impact on pop culture through their music videos. Shakira is the second Latin artist to receive this award, after Jennifer Lopez in 2011.
At this year’s VMAs, Shakira is also nominated for three awards: Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration for “TQG” with Karol G, and Best Latin Video for “TQG” and “Acrostico”.

For her part, Karol G, for the recording of the song “TQG” with Shakira, reached her first appearance at the Video Music Awards with three important nominations: Best Artist of the Year, Best Latin and Best Collaboration. This is the fourth year in a row that Karol G has been nominated for Best Latina.

The tentative list of songs to be performed by Shakira at the 2023 MTV Awards was recently leaked via digital platforms, Volume 53″.

However, a recent publication by Karol G on her Instagram stories has raised suspicions that she and Shakira will share the VMAs stage to perform “TQG”.

The Money artist posted a photo of his apparently injured knees with the following message: “My knees today after practicing 8 hours the day before yesterday for the VMAs.”

Speculation that the two artists will do a show together is due to the fact that in the video for “TQG” they both perform choreography on the floor and on their knees.

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 8 PM ET/PT at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
