Last month, Apple formally announced its intention to integrate generative AI into its devices with the introduction of Apple Intelligence. The launch, scheduled for this fall with the iPhone 16 series, has generated a lot of excitement.

One of the most interesting aspects of Apple Intelligence is its potential to revolutionize Siri, making it a more intuitive and capable assistant. However, Expected Siri improvements won’t be available on iPhone this fall.

A major update to Siri is coming next spring, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Gurman detailed the advanced Siri features Apple unveiled at WWDC, such as unprecedented control over actions within Apple apps, the ability to perform complex cross-app tasks (like editing a photo and sending it to a friend), and the ability to anticipate and suggest actions based on the content on the screen. They won’t be ready for Apple Intelligence’s first launch this fall.

According to Gurman’s sources, these improved Siri features are expected to enter beta testing for developers in January. The public debut is planned for the spring as part of the iOS 18.4 update.

Some minor improvements to Siri, including a redesigned interface and ChatGPT integration, will arrive later this year, possibly as part of the first public release of iOS 18.

Gurman’s talk also discusses Apple’s vision beyond smartphones, with the company planning to integrate Apple Intelligence into the Vision Pro headset next year.
